Student Mental Health Services
Seeking experienced professional with background in reducing barriers to mental health care in multicultural environment to provide assessment and clinical care for a diverse university population of Harvard’ with a focus on students and their dependents. Facilitates the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, consultation and referral of students for appropriate care. Counsels and provides outreach and education to a diverse population; maintains quality assurance and improvement activities in compliance standards; provides outreach and consults with University administrators. Participates in After Hours on-call and urgent care schedules. Reports to the Chief of the Service and the Practice Manager.
This is a nine month appointment starting September 1 through May 31. As a 1.0 FTE you will be required to work 40 hours in the academic 40 week period (September 1 through May 31).This position must work 5 days a week including Mondays and Fridays as well as one evening shift until 7:00pm. Two weeks of vacation must be taken: one week in the month of January and the last week of May. The appointment will be put on unpaid leave of absence from June through August. After Hours Urgent Care on-call responsibilities include covering occasional holidays and weekday on-call (approximately once per month). Clinical schedule includes evening hours during the academic year; May be required to provide training to Harvard community during evening hours.
Licensed independent clinical social worker with current Massachusetts license. Demonstrated experience in eating disorders.
Comfort working within a time effective model in an extremely busy practice. Experience with emergency care and crisis management. Demonstrated work experience in the following areas preferred: assessment/ treatment of a diverse population of adolescents and adults; multicultural adjustment issues; fluency in a foreign language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Spanish preferred); student health issues, and outreach and consultation in a university community.
