Position Description
The Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and is responsible for providing leadership and administrative oversight of the programs and services of the University Counseling Center. Major responsibilities include: program planning and development, supervision and evaluation of staff; budget management; crisis intervention, outreach and consultation. The Center is IACS accredited and comprised of a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, psychiatric providers, nutritionist, masterís level trainees, and administrative support staff.


Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology with a minimum of five years administrative experience in a college Counseling Center. Must be licensed as a psychologist in the State of Florida or attain licensure within two years of appointment

Desired Qualifications
Experience or knowledge in developing/applying for a new APA approved doctoral internship program preferred, but not required.

Region Description
Jacksonville is located in northeast Florida on the banks of the St. Johns River and adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean. The region offers a mild climate, excellent beaches, schools, parks, art and music festivals, theatre, museums, art galleries, shopping, sports, restaurants, a Zoo, Arboretum and Gardens. Many parks provide access to boat, swim, fish, sail, jet ski, surf, and water ski. There are excellent health care facilities, including Mayo Clinic and Baptist Medical Center.
