The Florida State University’s Division of Student Affairs is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative professional to provide leadership, coordination and direction for the University Counseling Center at FSU.
•Provision of leadership to the University Counseling Center (UCC) and as the Chief Mental Health Administrator for the campus.
•Development of a vision for the UCC which encompasses the mental health needs of all students while identifying new developments in the field which impact university students and delivery of mental health services.
•Oversight for the delivery of individual and group counseling services, crisis management, wellness programming, outreach and consultation; fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with all university departments and units; implements quality control measures and risk management procedures related to the delivery of clinical services, management of counseling records and maintenance of confidentiality.
•Recruitment, hiring, supervision and evaluation of licensed psychologists and mental health counselors, pre-doctoral and pre-masters interns, graduate assistants, support staff and UCC administrators.
•Management of budgets and the development of annual reports.
The University Counseling Center (UCC) provides a full range of counseling and psychological services and has a very robust group therapy program, an active outreach agenda, and a dynamic peer educator student organization. We are a diverse, multidisciplinary staff representing many theoretical orientations and disciplines (psychology, counseling, social work, and art therapy). Collaboration with other Student Affairs and Academic units to provide mental health and wellness programming is a hallmark of our center. All staff members are encouraged to contribute to the training and supervision of graduate interns. The UCC enjoys the strong support of University administrators, is fully accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS) and is an APA-Accredited Pre-doctoral Internship site.

Candidates must have a Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-Accredited program, a valid Psychologist license in the State of Florida (or licensed in another state and able to obtain FL licensure within one year of employment in this position), six years of professional experience working in clinical and/or a counseling setting, and experience supervising professional staff in a college or university setting.
A proven track record of counseling center administrative experience, clinical supervision and training experience in an APA Internship Program is highly desired. Demonstrated abilities and interests in teamwork, multicultural competency and outreach are valued.
