Director of Counseling Services

Ohio Wesleyan University seeks a talented and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Director of Counseling Services in the Division of Student Affairs. The successful candidate will have broad clinical experience working with college students and young adults, history of effective collaboration with campus health services, and knowledge, experience and commitment to work with short term delivery systems for providing counseling and psychotherapy. This would include experience with the proactive utilization of off-campus referrals for students who require more extensive psychological support than a brief psychotherapy model can provide. Additionally the candidate will have experience with supervision, operations management and with educational outreach.
Responsibilities Include: Individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, educational outreach, training for faculty/staff/students, supervision of staff ranging from counseling/psychology graduate post-graduate interns to professional staff and other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students. Service on university and division committees, annual reporting and budget management is also expected.
This is a full-time, 11 month position with a competitive salary.

Minimum of a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, completion of an APA accredited internship, and licensure or license eligibility to practice independently in the state of Ohio is required. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach education, consultation, and clinical supervision in a college/university setting is essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to form strong working/collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff members, and the ability to relate effectively with diverse members of the University community are also essential.
A preference is given to candidates with leadership experience within a college counseling center as well as familiarity and experience with Titanium Software.
