Position Description
Staff Psychologist or Senior Staff Psychologist: Maintains full clinical psychotherapy case load. Provides daytime and after hour emergency on-call in rotation with other staff. Performs other assigned services including outreach, consultation, and community activity. Provides clinical supervision of pre-doctoral interns in the Center’s APA approved internship program.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the job: • 1) Maintains full clinical case load of individual and group psychotherapy to student clients, • 2) Provides diagnostic assessments, and when appropriate makes referral to consulting psychiatrists and appropriate agencies, • 3) Provides daytime emergency service including triage and crisis intervention, • 4) Provides on-call after hour psychological emergency coverage and assessment independently including for the Sexual Assault HelpLine during evenings and weekends in rotation with 10 other clinical staff, • 5) Maintains case management notes in a timely and complete manner; completes all related paperwork as required by Center, • 6) Attends clinical meetings and staff business meeting, • 7) Provides outreach, training, and consultation services to University community, parents, and others concerned with student-life problems, • 8) Participates in Counseling Center research activities, • 9) Provides community service, as appropriate and with permission of supervisor and Director, to the University Community, including serving on departmental, divisional, and university wide committees as Counseling Center representative, and • 10) Participates in training including education of pre-doctoral interns through educational seminars and as secondary supervisor in areas of expertise. Provides primary supervision to interns and trainees under supervision of Training Director.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. License or license eligible as a psychologist in Maryland. A minimum of 2 years of clincial experience preferred.

Working with a college student population a plus.

The Counseling Center serves both graduate and undergraduate students from the school of Arts & Science, Engineering, and Music. Students come from diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds and include many international students. The Counseling Center is located on the main Homewood campus which is separate from the Medical campus.

Baltimore is large metropolitan area located about 40 miles from Washington, D.C. It is a diverse community rich in cultural and recreational resources.
