In addition to our highly regarded Mental Health Services, we offer innovative services including Behavioral Health, Wellness, Outreach, and Integrated Medical Services. Join an experienced Psychiatry team that consists of both Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse Prescribers who have been in practice together for over 17 years.
Under the clinical oversight of the Director of Psychiatry, the Advance Practice Nurse Prescriber:
-Demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism and serving underrepresented populations.
-Prescribe psychiatric medications and provide routine psychiatric medication evaluations and follow ups.
-Participates in staffing of psychiatric consultation shift(s) and provides emergent psychiatric medication evaluations.
-Provides formal and informal consultation to C&CS therapists, trainees, and other UHS staff.
-Participates in the provision of group therapy services.
-Administers and interprets limited assessment measures (rating scales).
-Responds to campus crises.
-Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA.
-Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations.
-Maintains consultative collaboration with unitís Staff Psychiatrist.
-Provides evaluative input regarding C&CS trainees, psychiatric residents and fellows in accordance with training policies and procedures of the respective programs.
-Provides supervision of graduate level nursing students.
-Provides campus-based services and consultation to internal and external constituents.
-Provides continuing education presentations to trainees, staff, and external organizations.
-May develop formal teaching relationships with academic departments.
-Participates in unit quality improvement activities as required by accreditation standards.
-Attends staff, project team, psychiatric case consultation, and workgroup meetings.
-Attends C&CS sponsored professional development activities.
-Serves on internal and external committees.
-As budget allows, represents C&CS in regional and national conferences.
-Other responsibilities as assigned.
Degree and area of specialization:
Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Masters in Nursing, or Nurse Practitioner
Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Wisconsin to practice as a Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. Must possess a DEA license and have a minimum of one year of experience prescribing psychiatric medications.
Minimum 1 years professional experience required. Experience working in a college mental health setting preferred.
