The University of New Hampshire Counseling invites applications for a full-time, 12-month psychologist position beginning Fall 2013. We are seeking a team-oriented generalist with strong clinical skills ready to meet the increasing severity of college studentsí mental health needs. A successful candidate will join a staff of diverse professionals who are sensitive and committed to the needs of a multicultural organization and the richness of human differences. Demonstrated experience working with underrepresented student populations, a commitment to social justice, and expertise in brief treatment and group interventions are required. Candidates with skills utilizing technology in mental health services are preferred.
Provide individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, campus outreach/consultation, and supervision/training of doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows.
A doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, or equivalent, including a supervised internship, three years experience in college/university counseling or mental health agency (minimum of two years experience in a college/university counseling center is preferred) and NH license eligibility are required
Nine licensed psychologists, three post-doctoral fellows and three doctoral interns staff the Counseling Center. The Center is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc. (IACS) and is a member of the Association of Psychology Internship Centers (APPIC). Our Doctoral Internship Program is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association. The Counseling Center staff is characterized by a diversity of background, training, theoretical orientation and special interests.
