The Associate Director shares responsibility with the Director for leadership of Psychological Services, a department with 17 staff members, that is responsible for a broad range of mental health services to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students and provides psychotherapeutic intervention to 1400 students annually. The Associate Director provides direct clinical services, and performs administrative functions, including supervision of clinical staff, coordination of the departmental outreach program, management of the department in the Director’s absence, and other duties as assigned. Please note that this is a ten month position, aligned with the academic year.
-PhD in clinical or counseling psychology, with 5 years post-internship experience; or MSW, with 8 years post-degree experience.
-Licensure as a psychologist or social worker in RI. (Current licensure in another state and eligibility for licensure in RI will also meet this requirement.)
-Excellent clinical and communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to make independent professional judgments of routine and urgent clinical situations.
-Significant experience with university students / young adults preferred.
-Experience with multi-culturally diverse populations preferred.
-Administrative and / or other clinical supervisory experience in mental health or human services programs preferred.
