Position Description
The Counseling Intern is a training position in which the intern functions primarily as a direct service provider with broader responsibilities for all areas of service delivery. The Counseling Intern works under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist in Counseling Services and provides counseling for students, consultation, outreach programming, and training. Two hours of weekly, one-on-one supervision will be provided and the intern will participate in a weekly clinical case conference.

Responsibilities include individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, educational outreach, training for faculty/staff/students, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Counseling Services.

Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a masterís degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, or related field is required. Experience in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach education, and consultation in a college/university setting is essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to form strong working/collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff members, and the ability to relate effectively with diverse members of the University community are also essential.

Ohio Wesleyan seeks a talented and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Counseling Intern in the Counseling Services office. Counseling Services is one of several offices within the Division of Student Affairs located in the Hamilton Williams Campus Center.
