The Staff Psychologist in Counseling Services functions primarily as a direct service provider with broader responsibilities for all areas of service delivery. The Staff Psychologist provides counseling for students, consultation, outreach programming, training, and may be asked to provide supervision for trainees. Additionally, the Staff Psychologist assists the Director of Counseling Services as needed in the administration of the Counseling Servicesí office.
Responsibilities include individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, educational outreach, training for faculty/staff/students, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Counseling Services.

Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, completion of an APA accredited internship, and licensure or license eligibility to practice independently in the state of Ohio is required. Extensive experience in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach education, consultation, and clinical supervision in a college/university setting is essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to form strong working/collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff members, and the ability to relate effectively with diverse members of the University community are also essential.
Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and is located just 20 miles north of Columbus. Counseling Services is one of several offices within the Division of Student Affairs located in the Hamilton Williams Campus Center.
