This 12 month, full time position will provide direct client care to students at Drexel University; engage in consultation services; share on-call responsibilities, etc; and participate in general Student Affairs functions as a member of an Office within the Division of Student Life.
Specifically, the Staff Therapist will:
•Provide individual counseling, crisis intervention, and referral services to students.
•Rotate 24 hour on-call service with Counseling Staff.
•Provide consultation to faculty, staff and administration regarding students.
•Facilitate psycho-educational groups, support groups, and conduct workshops on mental health-related topics.
•Maintain APA professional ethics in all areas.
•Participate in weekly clinical supervision.
•Attend Counseling Center Staff meetings; divisional meetings as needed.
•Provide supervision of unlicensed staff as appropriate
Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related field. PA Licensed or license eligible. Experience working with late adolescent / early adult population. Multicultural sensitivity a must. Excellent counseling, crisis intervention and communication skills required; must have good organizational and computer skills.
Two years of pre or post-degree counseling experience providing personal counseling, crisis intervention, assessment and referral, consultation and workshops preferred. One year in a college or university setting preferred (internship acceptable.)
