Position Description
Founded in 1848, Rhodes College is a highly selective, private, coeducational, residential, undergraduate college. We invite applications for a Clinical Counselor, who is responsible for individual, group and family counseling and for development of outreach programming. Provide crisis counseling and crisis intervention to students. Provide case management for students as needed. Refer students for psychiatric consultation; refer to specialists as needed; support the appropriate use of prescription medications prescribed by psychiatrists; coordinate treatment among various mental health providers in Memphis and at home; educate faculty about the impact of specific symptoms and drug side effects when requested by student. Rotate weekend and evening on-call service with Director, Associate Director and Assistant Director of Student Counseling. Provide evaluations of students referred by Deanís office because of concerns about erratic conduct, student safety, anger management, alcohol and drug abuse and other behavioral health issues. Provide clinical consultations to faculty, staff and parents, and help faculty and staff develop behavior management strategies to safely support students whose behavior may be influenced by mental health disabilities. Provide outreach programming on issues related to mental health and individual development such as study skills, stress, depression, substance abuse, and sexual assault. Develop passive outreach programming. Design publications on behavioral health topics for students. Train faculty, staff and students on issues such as depression, suicide, anxiety, crisis intervention, conflict resolution and sexual misconduct. Serve on committees and advisory groups as assigned or requested. Serve as a member of the Student Affairs Staff and collaborate on programming.

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a Masterís Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field. Candidates must be licensed to practice independently and obtain TN licensure before starting employment at Rhodes College. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two yearsí experience in counseling. Experience in a college/university setting or in late adolescent/young adult development preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; excellent communication skills and the demonstrated ability to handle confidential information required.
