Position Description
COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST (2008535). This is an open recruitment for an 11-month, 100% time position on the Cheney campus. This recruitment began 5/30/13. Please note: We will give 3 daysí notice prior to closing this recruitment.

Basic Function and Responsibility: Responsible to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for providing psychological and developmental services for students of Eastern Washington University, including crisis intervention. Provides outreach and consultation services to the campus community. Engage in continuing education to improve clinical skills and attain/maintain licensure as a psychologist in Washington state. This position assumes responsibility for the ongoing development, administration and execution of psychological assessment and testing services provided by CAPS.

Special Notes: Some evening/weekend work should be expected, including outreach to students and crisis intervention.

This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults, or children under the age of 18, and will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
-This position requires a Ph.D. from an accredited program in either Counseling or Clinical Psychology by start date
-Completion of an APA or APPIC approved internship
-This position requires expertise in psychological assessment and utilization within a university setting (for learning disorders, ADHD, etc.), as the selected professional will serve a coordinator role for CAPS in this area.
-Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Washington; if license-eligible, license must be achieved within two years of start date [i.e. 9/1/2015]

Additionally, candidates must offer a demonstrated high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency or diversity.

Desired Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following:
-Providing services within a university setting.
-Providing counseling group facilitation.
-Supervision of counseling trainees or practicum students
-Providing outreach programming.
-Providing crisis intervention services.
