Student Health & Counseling/ Division of Student Affairs
This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Counseling, and to the Assistant Director of Counseling, when the Associate Director is absent. The position is a 28-hours per week, 10 months per year position. The weekly schedule for this position will be 4-days, as agreed upon with the Associate Director.
Conduct Evaluation and Treatment of individual undergraduate and graduate students using a range of modalities, including: intake assessment/triage, crisis intervention, time-limited case consultation, ongoing counseling, and referral
Assist with Preventative Outreach/ Systemic Consultation to the Campus Community (including faculty, staff, and/or students) in designated domains (ex: Violence Prevention, Cultural Diversity, Student Life, Academic Support & Retention, Severe & Persistent Mental Illness, etc.), relying on such methods as tailored needs assessments, program planning & evaluation, psycho-educational group facilitation, grant development, etc.
Assist with the Graduate Psychology Training Program, including supervision of masters- and doctoral-level practicum students and interns (schedule permitting)
Provide After-Hours Coverage as part of an on call rotation for Counseling clients and collaborate on campus-level crisis incidents, in coordination with Associate Director and Assistant Director of Counseling
Attend and Participate in Departmental-, Division-, and Campus-Level Meetings, and related administrative tasks (as assigned & schedule permitting)
Pursue Opportunities for Professional Expertise Development and complete continuing education activities as required by state licensing board regulations
Pennsylvania license to practice Psychology
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (PhD, PsyD or EdD) from an APA accredited program preferred.
Three years of experience working with college student population
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population and in particular with health professionals in training
Supervision and training experience preferred with graduate psychology/ counseling trainees
Applicants with clinical proficiency in mens health, familiarity with specific ethnic minority student group needs, psycho-educational training and/ or curriculum design, program evaluation and/ or applied/ clinical research will be given special consideration.
