Position Description
Responsibilities: Working under the general supervision of the Director of the University Counseling Services (UCS), this position calls for the faculty counselor to work in developing, training outreach and mental health programing for LGBTQ students. The SSP AR-I Counselor, as a member of the general university faculty, also collaborates with faculty and staff to develop and implement appropriate campus/community psycho-educational strategies to increase student academic and personal success. Provides intake assessment, crisis intervention, case management, and short-term counseling to a diverse, student population, presenting with a wide range of psychosocial and developmental concerns. Promotes and offers structured workshops, support and process groups to students. Contributes to the overall training of paraprofessionals and psychology interns through teaching supervision, seminars and mentoring. Designs and implements outreach programs and interventions that support the learning centered mission of the division of student affairs.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned Doctorate degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, and college level Counseling Center experience. Applicants must demonstrate experience and interest in serving the psychosocial and academic needs of university students. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals is essential. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to mentor and work with a diverse student population.

Desired Qualifications
Has experience and interest in working with LGBTQ students and developing outreach programming in collaboration with other campus departments.
