As assistant director the employee will provide psychotherapy services including individual, couples and group, as well as, consultation, crisis evaluation, and outreach related to Counseling Services. This employee takes a lead role in Counseling Services as the next in charge following the Director and Associate Director and is responsible for program evaluation and implementation of technology to improve delivery of service.
Active license as a psychologist for a minimum of three years in any state and licensed as a psychologist in the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490, F.S. within six months of hire date.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a warm, caring, respectful and non-judgmental manner; ability, interest and experience in providing both long and short-term psychotherapy, complex clinical cases, couple’s therapy, psychotherapy groups and support groups, crisis services, mental health promotion workshops and consultation; ability and interest in serving on after-hours on-call rotation; ability and experience working effectively with students from diverse ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds; experience providing clinical supervision; experience in conducting program evaluation; ability and interest in assisting the associate director in evaluation activities related to program effectiveness, clinical outcomes, and accreditation efforts; ability and interest in leading the staff in the implementation of technology to improve delivery of service, utilization tracking, website management, and promotion of all counseling services; ability and interest in providing administrative and clinical supervision of staff, as needed, to ensure the ethical delivery of all counseling services in accordance with federal and state guidelines and professional ethics codes; ability and interest in assisting the Associate Director in conducting staff retreats and other training opportunities; ability and interest in serving as acting clinical director in the associate director and director’s absence; ability and interest in serving as the Associate Director’s or Director’s designee on assigned committees, crisis response, and consultation when the Associate Director and Director are not available.
