Position Description
The duties involve assisting in the organization, management, and administration of mental health programming for student athletes and include: individual psychotherapy, intake and assessment, crisis intervention, performance enhancement, Experiencing Confidence and Enjoyment of Learning (ExCEL) workshops and support groups for CSUN student-athletes. The Post-Doctoral Counselor Intern/Fellow will conduct outreach and workshops, and work cooperatively with athletic department staff. The Post-Doctoral Counselor Intern/Fellow will work and be trained under the clinical supervision of a California licensed psychologist and the liaisons from the athletic department and Kinesiology.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have a Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical psychology and have preferably completed an accredited APA-predoctoral internship at a University based Counseling Center. They must also demonstrate an interest in sport and/or academic preparation in sport psychology. Experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential. Organizational skills follow through, and ability to work independently in a responsible manner is all essential to this position.

Desired Qualifications
Experience as a college athlete would be helpful, but not necessary.
