Director, Counseling and Psychological Services Center
Counseling and Psychological Services Center (CAPS)

CAPS is a full-service multi-disciplinary university counseling center serving nearly 13,000 students. Reporting to the Executive Director for Student Health Services, the Director of CAPS provides clinical and administrative leadership in the design, development, planning, implementation, coordination, assessment, and continuous improvement of counseling, crisis, psychiatry, and other behavioral health programs and services. The Director serves as a key liaison to other University departments, administrators, faculty, and staff on all mental health policy and practice issues and represents CAPS on University committees. The Director must ensure that CAPS understands and responds to the counseling needs of the Tulane student community while reducing barriers to student success through the appropriate utilization of interdisciplinary mental health programs and services.
Candidates are required to have (1) an earned doctorate in counseling, clinical psychology, or social work; (2) eligibility for or possession of a current license to practice in the State of Louisiana; (3) at least 7 years of post-doctoral clinical experience; and (4) a strong record of progressive operational, administrative, and management experience in a college or university counseling setting.
The successful candidate will be a strong and engaged clinician and manager with an affinity for working in an interdisciplinary team. Previous experience managing a college or university counseling center and developing operating protocols in a campus counseling setting is preferred.
