Counseling and Psychological Services
CAPS is seeking an experienced counselor with strong clinical skills, including experience working in a university or mental health setting. Responsibilities include providing brief, time-limited individual therapy; group therapy; crisis intervention services and assessment for full time undergraduate students. The counselor will provide direct consultation services to UMW students, parents, faculty, staff and community members. Other responsibilities include developing and providing outreach programs and educational trainings to the community. The counselor may be responsible for providing direct supervision to masters and doctoral level trainees.

-Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology.
-Successful completion of pre-doctoral clinical internship. APA accredited doctoral program required.
-Broad generalist clinical skills, including experience assessing and intervening with a range of disorders, concerns, and degrees of pathology.
-Licensed or license-eligible status in Virginia is strongly preferred.
-Brief therapy and group facilitation experience in a college/university counseling center is preferred.
-Expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable and preferred: wellness programming, cognitive-behavioral therapy, substance abuse, eating disorders.
