Position Description
Bucknell University’s Psychological Services invites applications for a Staff Psychologist/Counselor position. The position is a full-time, 12 month position with university benefits. Responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling/psychotherapy for students with personal, academic and/or vocational concerns. Providing crisis intervention services as well as clinical consultation services to students, faculty and staff as well as family members with concerns about students. Developing and presenting psycho-educational outreach programs. Engaging in assessment and outcome research. Upholding ethical principles and promote best practice standards of the profession.

Minimum Qualifications
Terminal degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselor Education, or Social Work. Licensed or license eligible in Pennsylvania. Experience working with college-age students. Demonstrated competency in counseling and working with diverse populations.

Desired Qualifications
Preferred qualities of the candidate include: (1) demonstrated expertise in working with student athletes, outreach programming and consultation services, men’s issues, or with victims of sexual violence, (2) demonstrated skill in prioritizing and managing multiple clinical situations and coordinating these efforts as a part of a multidisciplinary team, (3) demonstrated knowledge and skill in addressing multicultural issues and proven ability to interact with diverse individuals and groups.

Psychological Services has been a key service on campus for over 50 years and provides a full range mental health and personal development services. The center is staffed by 7.5 FTE clinicians, psychologists, counselors and social workers. A psychiatrist is on contract with the center to provide in-house medication services. The center works closely with the other offices within the division of Student Affairs and with colleagues in Academic Affairs.
