Position Description
Reed College, one of the country’s leading private liberal arts colleges invites applications for a Clinical Coordinator/Training Director. The Reed College Health and Counseling center is seeking an experienced and collaborative Psychologist with extensive experience in college mental health to provide clinical and managerial expertise to a strong college mental heath team of Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, pre and post-doctoral Psychology trainees and administrative staff. The Health and Counseling Center (HCC) offers a broad array of services to a diverse student body, including individual psychotherapy, urgent care and crisis intervention, psychopharmacological consultations and maintenance, campus liaison, outreach and mental health education; as well as community referral services.

One of the primary functions of this position will be to provide oversight and management of all aspects of the HCC’s training programs including the recruitment, selection and orientation of pre-doctoral Psychology trainees, post-doctoral Psychologist Residents as well as trainees in other disciplines (e.g. clinical Social Work trainees). Coordination of supervision, development and management of the training program as well as direct individual and group supervision are all integral parts of the position.

A second major function is to provide oversight of daily clinic operations and flow, and assisting in management of urgent situations as they arise. This person serves as a point person for incoming clinical concerns, requests for records, and consultation with HCC psychiatric staff as needed for coordination of care. The person in this position will be responsible for the development, revision, and maintenance of Center policies and procedures, including integration of relevant federal and state law and professional ethics codes. S/he will be an accessible, engaged partner to leaders across student services, academic affairs, and community safety, and will play an important role in crisis management for the Reed community.

The person in this position will carry an ongoing clinical caseload as well as work in the on-call rotation during the academic year.

The Clinical Coordinator/Training Director will report directly to the Director of Health and Counseling Services. S/he will directly oversee the trainees at various levels, and will coordinate with the Staff Psychologists the clinical supervision of these trainees. The Clinical Coordinator/Training Director works collaboratively with other licensed counseling and medical staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program, a license (or be license eligible) as a Psychologist in Oregon, a minimum of seven (7) years post-licensure experience in a university counseling center as well as five (5) years supervisory experience is preferred.

Candidates must have administrative and supervisory experience and demonstrate strong clinical, managerial/leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Desired Qualifications
Significant expertise and a sophisticated understanding of current and emerging college-age mental health issues with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with college-age populations, international students, parents, faculty, and college administrators strongly preferred. Proven talent for collaboration, team-building, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships are key competencies for this position. Interest in training and professional development of trainees. Experience and skills in working with eating disorder/body image concerns, substance abuse issues and/or LGBTQ populations.
