Counseling and Development Center, a department within the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, at Northern Illinois University invites applications for the position of Staff Psychologist. This is a full-time 12-month position with university benefits.
Responsibilities include diagnostic assessment and triage, the provision of individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, provision of supervision and training, and limited after-hours on-call service. The successful candidate must also be able to provide high-quality clinical services and training in Eating Disorder treatment and will serve as the Center’s liaison to Health Services, managing a multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment team.
Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; experience providing Eating Disorder treatment; experience providing supervision to psychology trainees; excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to diversity; must be licensed within eighteen (18) months of hire as a psychologist in the State of Illinois.
Prior experience in a university counseling center is preferred.
NIU is located in DeKalb, IL. It has an enrollment of roughly 24,000 students, including a graduate student body of over 6,400.
