Counseling and Student Development Center, a department within the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, at Northern Illinois University invites applications for the position of Clinical/Counseling Psychologist. This is a full-time 12-month position with university benefits.
Responsibilities include diagnostic assessment and triage, the provision of individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach and consultation, provision of supervision and training, and limited after-hours on-call service. The successful candidate must also be able to provide high-quality treatment and training in working with African American students and will serve as the Center’s liaison to the Center for Black Studies.
Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; documented experience providing clinical services to African American individuals; experience providing supervision to psychology trainees; excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to diversity; must be licensed within eighteen (18) months of hire as a psychologist in the State of Illinois.
Prior experience in a university counseling center is preferred.
NIU is located in DeKalb, IL. It has an enrollment of roughly 24,000 students, including a graduate student body of over 6,400.
