Position Description
The Director reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Health and Wellness and is responsible for providing leadership and direction for all administrative, clinical, and educational components of Counseling and Psychological Services. The department offers a wide range of professional services for students including short-term personal counseling as well as crisis assessment and psychiatric referral evaluation and consultation. The Director provides collaborative leadership and visionary direction for a diverse team of eight clinical staff members (psychologists and counselors), two Pre-doc interns, four masters counseling graduate assistants, and two administrative staff members.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess demonstrated integrity and ethics, a doctorate in Clinical/Counseling Psychology or related field; 5+ years of experience in a clinical and/or counseling setting with significant clinical and/or administrative supervisory experience; must obtain licensure in the state of North Carolina within one year of hire; demonstrated managerial leadership; budgeting expertise; risk management experience; demonstrated knowledge of national trends and best practices; superior communication skills; and the ability to form collaborative relationships and consensus between various constituencies across campus and externally.

Desired Qualifications
Experience working in a higher education setting is strongly preferred.
