Position Description
NMSU Counseling Center is seeking two Counseling Psychologists to provide direct service and educational programming. These are 12 month, full-time positions which require a Doctoral Degree, or All But Dissertation and one year experience in a university counseling center. Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist within two years in New Mexico is required. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred. NMSU is an EEO/ AA Employer. Offer of employment is contingent upon verification of individual’s eligibility for employment in the United States and results of a background check. Review of applications will begin March 8, 2013. One position would entail being coordinator of Behavioral Health and Wellness Programing and the other position would be to coordinate the group therapy program. Additionally, both positions entail the provision of supervision of practicum and doctoral interns; delivery of individual, group, career counseling, crisis intervention; and the provision of consultation and educational services across campus.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD All But Dissertation (ABD) with PhD in hand within one year of hire and one (1) year of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
Desired Qualifications
Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
Clinical experience with diverse populations.
In addition to experience with behavioral health or groups (depending upon which position) we are seeking professionals who also have clinical interests with many of the following: working with veterans, experience in men’s issues, assessment, couples therapy, trauma, application of DBT, eating disorders, sports psychology, and group therapy.
