Tenure-track, Assistant Professor/Psychologist

West Chester University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants for two faculty-ranked positions in the Department of Counseling & Psychological Services (The Counseling Center). These full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor positions will begin August, 2013.
To be eligible, an applicant must be licensed as a psychologist in Pennsylvania (or have Pennsylvania license eligibility) and have clinical experience in a University Counseling Center setting. A Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is required. The Counseling Center provides services to students with a range of psychological and career/educational concerns. The primary responsibilities include proficiency in treatment planning and providing short-term counseling for students with a range of clinical problems. In addition to providing individual treatment, candidates must also have an ability to provide group therapy as well as crisis work, on-call, and outreach programming across campus. Supervision of graduate-level trainees may be expected.
Attention to the diverse needs and backgrounds of WCU students as well as an ability to collaborate with department psychologists, psychiatrists, and other university health care professionals is a must. Because these are tenure-track faculty positions, selected candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly activities and to participate in service across the university spectrum.
Must have a Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology.
Must be licensed or license-eligible in Pennsylvania as a psychologist.
Must have prior clinical experience in a University or College Counseling Center.
Excellent short-term counseling skills; group experience. Conducting Outreach and providing Supervision desired.
Because these are faculty-ranked positions, the candidates must be able to conduct scholarly work and publish in peer-reviewed forums.
