Position Description
This is a full-time clinical position in the VSU Counseling Center. Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach programming, training, testing, supervision, research, consultation, and other support services to the campus and community; and other duties as assigned. The position reports to the Director of the Counseling Center, which is part of the Division of Student Affairs. The Counseling Center is fully accredited by The International Association of Counseling Services, (IACS)
Minimum Qualifications
A Doctorate Degree in Psychology or a Master’s Degree in Social Work is required. The successful candidate must be licensed or licensed-eligible in Georgia within one year as a Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Experience in providing direct client services with a variety of populations in a fast paced, stimulating environment is required.
Desired Qualifications
Applicants with prior work experience in a college or university counseling center with a diverse student population are preferred.

Valdosta State University is a public regional institution with approximately 13,000 students located in south central Georgia. Degrees are offered in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral programs.
Region Description
The University is located in Valdosta, a city of approximately 55,000. It can easily be reached from three exits off I-75 and is convenient to shopping areas, a variety of restaurants and other attractions. The Valdosta area is served by the Valdosta Municipal Airport and by the airports in Tallahassee and Jacksonville, Florida. The two campuses, located less than a mile apart, include more than 168 acres of land.
