Position Description
Promote student learning and development by evaluating and treating university students with psychological and psychiatric conditions, behavioral health issues, developmental concerns and systemic difficulties through the provision of time-limited individual, couples and group therapy. Promote the mental health of students and assist in the enhancement of their interpersonal relationships and academic functioning as it relates to their emotional health. Develops, conducts and evaluates Outreach Workshops and activities for students, faculty and staff. Provision of crisis intervention services to University of Michigan-Flint students. Consultation with faculty, staff and students. Participate in various student affairs/university activities and committees. Attend appropriate professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a masters degree in social work. Must be licensed as a clinical social worker in the State of Michigan. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Ability to relate effectively with students, colleagues, faculty, staff and administrators is essential. Candidate must also be able to work collaboratively on a team of multidisciplinary professionals.

Desired Qualifications
Specialization in at least one of the following clinical areas:
- men’s issues
- alcohol and other drug issues
- multicultural competency working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- students with disabilities

Preference given to candidates who have 3+ years previous experience working in a university counseling center.
