Position Description
The postdoctoral fellowship is designed for a psychology doctoral graduate who is seeking licensure and is interested in advanced training in a university counseling center. The primary responsibilities of the fellow include individual and group therapy, intake interviews, crisis intervention, and outreach and consultation to students, faculty, and staff. Fellows also gain specialized experience and training in the provision of supervision and will be responsible for providing individual supervision to our first-year practicum students. Additional experiences may include presenting training seminars to practicum students and interns and participation in training committee activities. Fellows receive weekly clinical supervision as well as supervision of their supervision of first-year practicum students.
Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications include a completed doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA accredited program and completion of an APA-accredited internship prior to the fellowship start date. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills as a clinician within a brief therapy model, clinical experience with young adults, demonstrated competency serving a diverse client population, and interest in training and supervision.
Desired Qualifications
Clinical experience in a college or university counseling center is preferred.
