Region Description
UTSA is a comprehensive public metropolitan university. The student population reflects the bi-lingual, bi-cultural heritage of San Antonio. In describing San Antonio, one of our recent post-docs described it as, "Home of the River Walk, the Alamo and the 3-time NBA Champion Spurs, San Antonio is truly a big city that feels like a small town.Ē The culture-rich city offers renowned art museums, theatre, and fine dining. For those who love the outdoors, San Antonio is perched on the edge of the Texas Hill Country which offers hiking, biking and river tubing. The state capital of Austin is an easy hour and a half away, offering incomparable access to the famous Texas music scene. Feel the heat in the summer but enjoy a mild climate the rest of the year."
