Counselor (Part-Time Temporary

This is a temporary (1/28/13 to 5/31/13) and part-time (24 hours a week) Counselor position. The Counselor will be responsible for providing short-term individual psychotherapy services and crisis intervention for students with personal and academic concerns; providing assessment and referral; consulting with students, faculty, and staff regarding mental health issues; and conducting educational outreach activities. The Counselor must demonstrate competence in providing effective interventions to a culturally diverse young population.
Our therapeutic model is integrative, collaborative, often short-term, with a strong therapeutic case management focus as we link students to community resources. Our work is very interactive, team based and we often work as a liaison to other departments in the college. PhD / PsyD preferred in a mental health discipline and NYS license or license eligible. Minimum requirements are a Masterís degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Clinical Social Work and NYS license and postgraduate clinical experience.
Previous experience in college counseling center preferred.
