Staff Psychologist (Part-time)

A staff psychologist in the ONU Counseling and Health Services shall:
•Have proficiency working with the male population on specific male issues.
•Provide 12-15 (depending on other responsibilities) hours of direct client contact with individual, couples, and group counseling recipients (primarily undergraduate students) with various problem issues (mood & anxiety disorders, career issues, grief, eating issues, relationship issues, etc).
•Provide 2-3 hours of individual supervision for Practicum Therapists in the training program.
•Participate in weekly group supervision meetings with the Practicum Therapists.
•Offer Didactic Training seminars on various topics such as treatment modalities, book discussions, and other relevant mental health topics for the training program as needed.
•Attend weekly one hour face-to-face supervision with the Director of Counseling and Health Services until license is acquired; will have regular consultation and staffing sessions with the Director after that point.
•Attend weekly staff meetings with the Counseling and Health Services team.
•Be willing to work irregular office hours (5p-9p) to provide workshops and accommodate groups and individuals who cannot meet during business day hours.
•Serve as an educator for student population, residence hall staff, and various departments on campus in areas of stress management, crisis management, and topical issues as they arise.
•Participate in training sessions as assigned throughout the academic year.
•Respond to after hour mental health emergencies when providing crisis coverage.
•Create and implement new programs to address the emotional and career needs of students.
•Foster relationships with members of the Olivet faculty and staff.
•Develop an understanding of the dimensions of university counseling at Olivet Nazarene University.
•Perform other related duties and assignments as needed.
*This position operates on a 9 month contract, 30 hours per week during the academic year (August 15-May 15).
Licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in Illinois with a PhD or PsyD
•Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology or Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling or Clinical Psychology
•License in field of study or be license-eligible and willing to meet that requirement within an arranged time frame.
•Understanding of and adherence to Ethical Standards according to American Psychological Association.
•Understanding of and adherence to HIPPA and FERPA regulations.
•Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team approach.
•Open to life-long learning and self-growth.
