Position Description
Responsible for the provision of individual and group psychotherapy/counseling, crisis intervention and outreach services to SUNY College at Old Westbury students. Conduct intake, clinical interviews, including psycho-diagnostic assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment plan formulation for students with a broad spectrum of psychological problems, ranging from adjustment issues and stress management to major psychiatric disorders. Provide individual and couples counseling and crisis intervention for psychological emergencies. Facilitate groups as needed by students. Supervise graduate level clinical psychology externs in individual and group psychotherapy. Provide psycho-educational outreach programs and serve as consultant to faculty and staff of the College. Maintain written case documentation in a timely manner and according to APA ethical standards.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology; ability to manage a large caseload; at least one year of clinical or counseling therapy experience; strong (verbal and written) communication skills, knowledge, sensitivity, and ability to work with students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds; ability to maintain confidentiality and adherence to professional ethics; have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team; must relate well to students, personnel, faculty and other members of the University community. Candidate must by NY State licensed or immediately license eligible to allow independent practice and must be authorized to work in the United States.

Desired Qualifications
Experience providing mental health services to college population; experience with clinical supervision; outreach and prevention experience with college population; familiarity with psychodynamic psychotherapy; knowledge of psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic testing.
