Counseling and Psychological Services at Mount St. Mary’s College has two Postdoctoral Fellow positions available for the 2013-2014 academic year. The positions are 40 hours per week beginning mid-August 2013 and ending May 31, 2014 (accruing 1,500 hours). The client population includes undergraduate and graduate college students who are diverse in terms of ethnicity and socio-economic status, and also includes many first-generation college students. Responsibilities include: providing short-term therapy, crisis intervention, outreach and consultation. The Postdoctoral Fellow’s time is divided between the Chalon and Doheny campuses. Supervision is provided by two licensed psychologists and is commensurate with California licensing requirements; 3 hours of individual supervision, 1 hour of group supervision and 2 hours training seminar per week are provided. The fellowship has a salary of $25,000 for 9.5 months and includes health, dental, vacation plus seven university holidays, waived parking fee for on-site parking, free access to MSMC’s libraries, pools, and gyms, and a private office with phone, e-mail and internet. Applicants must have completed all professional doctoral degree requirements from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, including an internship meeting CAPIC or APPIC standards. The doctoral degree must be completed before the beginning of the Postdoctoral Fellowship. Applicants should have prior experience with performing intakes and providing psychotherapy to adults or young adults, and an interest in outreach and consultation in the college setting.
Applicants having prior experience working at a university counseling center and demonstrating maturity as well as openness to ongoing learning are preferred. Applicants from APA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctoral programs are preferred.
Mount St. Mary’s College is a private, Catholic College of approximately 2,400 students, the majority of whom are women. There are two beautiful campuses in Los Angeles. The Chalon campus is nestled in the hills above West Los Angeles and the historic Doheny campus is located near downtown Los Angeles.

Applicants should include in one packet a letter of interest, vitae, official graduate school transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. Two of the letters should come from clinical supervisors (one who is a current or recent clinical supervisor) and one letter from an academic source.
