Position Description
Bucknell University seeks to hire an Interpersonal Violence Prevention Coordinator.
This position assumes primary leadership across campus for coordinating and facilitating prevention education programs addressing sexual assault and all forms of sexual and relationship violence. This individual oversees the campus’ prevention and education outreach services addressing sexual violence. These services include training, coordination, and supervision of the Speak UP Bucknell peer education program, developing and implementing additional prevention education programming and materials, and providing education for all members of the university community (faculty, staff and students) regarding sexual misconduct in all its forms.
This position is funded for a three-year time period by the Department of Justice Grants to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking on Campus Program. There is a strong possibility for continuation of this position through Bucknell funding after the 3 year term has concluded. This position will report to the Office of Psychological Services and the Women’s Resource Center.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership in outreach programming and articulating the campus’ goals/objectives for educational efforts regarding sexual violence.
Develop, implement, expand and enhance educational programs addressing sexual and relationship violence in all its forms. Conduct regular needs and outcome assessments for the planning and evaluation of prevention education programming.
Recruit, train, advise and supervise peer advocacy efforts. Provide primary leadership for Speak Up Bucknell program.
Provide training for student staff serving in roles on campus which place them in a position to be helpful and who may also have reporting requirements relative to the Clery Act. These student staff include but are not limited to: resident assistants, junior fellows, peer advisors, and orientation assistants.
Collaborate with the Director of the Women’s Resource Center, Staff Psychologist specializing in Sexual Violence, the Coordinator of Alcohol & Other Drugs Program, Assistant Dean of Students/Judicial Administrator, the staff of Office of Residential Education and Fraternity and Sorority Affairs and other relevant individuals/offices in programming and prevention efforts.
Serve as a consultant on educational issues related to sexual violence.
Provide professional development training for faculty and staff regarding sexual violence and the Clery Act.
Collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators regarding issues of sexual violence and prevention ( i.e., research, policy and procedural considerations, etc.)
Obtain, develop and distribute print and electronic educational materials (pamphlets, brochures, website, etc.) that address issues of sexual and relationship violence.
Assist in the maintenance of the web resources that support educational and crisis response efforts.
Remain current on information pertaining to sexual violence and prevention.
Serve as a member on the University Coalition for Sexual Misconduct Response and Prevention.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology/Counseling, Higher Education or relevant professional field.
Knowledge of the current developments and trends in the fields of sexual violence/sexual assault and prevention.
Demonstrated experience with outreach programming and assessment.
Experience working with college-age individuals.

Experience working with underserved communities. Experience with prevention efforts focused on men and masculinity.
