The Towson University Counseling Center seeks a full-time Eating Disorder Services Coordinator/staff psychologist to coordinate the eating disorder/body image clinical and outreach activities of the Counseling Center, and to provide counseling and psychological services to TU students.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for coordination, administration, and evaluation of the Eating Disorder/Body Image program at the Counseling Center which includes clinical, and outreach and activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collaborating with on and off campus departments to develop outreach programs for the campus, chairing a university-wide community on these topics, leading a peer education program, updating policies and procedures, training staff and interns/externs, and leading a body image group.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements: To be considered, applicants must have a doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, a pre-doctoral psychology internship in a university counseling center (or equivalent setting), at least two years professional experience, preferably in a university based counseling center, and licensure as a psychologist in Maryland. Extended hours may be required for outreach, campus events, or emergency situations. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate understanding of and commitment to diversity issues, program development and evaluation, and who possess excellent communication skills. The Eating Disorder program at Towson University Counseling Center includes an Anti-diet/Health at Every Size approach and preference will be given to candidates whose ideas are consistent with this approach. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Salary: Competitive salary and full university benefits that include excellent health, life insurance, and retirement plans; tuition remission; and 22 days of annual leave, 14 holidays, personal and sick days. The position is contingent on funds being available at the time of hire.
