Position Description
The post-doctoral fellow will gain experience in the primary functions of a college or university mental health professional. Primary responsibilities include serving as staff psychotherapist for undergraduate and graduate students, offering assessments, crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, and referral linkage to outside mental health providers. Responsibilities include supervision of graduate student externs. Also provides outreach programs or workshops to students and staff on topics of interest, and is available for consultation with faculty, staff and the larger SAIC community. Supervision, mentoring, and professional development experiences for this position will be provided by senior staff, and hours will qualify toward obtaining licensure as a clinical psychologist. This is a 12-month position, offering a salary of $27,000 and benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have PhD, PsyD, or ABD status from an accredited (APA) program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. A completed psychology internship is required. Must have strong clinical skills in treatment, assessment and crisis intervention. College or university counseling center experience and an understanding of outreach and consultation activities is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and high level of attention to detail are essential.
