The Office of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) is pleased to announce openings for two psychologists. One position is new and the other is filling a position that will be vacated in January 2013. Psychologists at IUPUI CAPS provide direct clinical service to IUPUI students, participate in outreach and programming, contribute to clinical training, and serve the department, division, and university through consultation and participation on committees. The primary role of direct clinical service includes individual, relationship, and group counseling; psychoeducational evaluation and testing; clinical assessment and treatment planning; and, crisis intervention. Contributions to clinical training may include didactic presentations, sessions observations, and clinical supervision of Master’s and Doctoral level graduate students in training. Additional service to the campus community will include training and participation in crisis response. All staff contribute to the strategic planning of the Department.

1) Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology required.
2) Completion of clinical practicum placements, internship, and at least one year of post-degree clinical service.
3) Licensed, or eligible for licensure and independent practice (within 6 months of hire), in the State of Indiana.
4) Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals in terms of identity and clinical presentation.
5) Well developed skills in therapy, assessment, and written and oral communication.
1) Experience in a college counseling center is strongly preferred.
2) Experience in substance abuse and/or eating disorders treatment is preferred.
