Western Carolina University is accepting applications for a Staff Psychologist position at Counseling and Psychological Services, which is fully accredited by IACS. Position is a 12-month full-time with benefits and competitive salary, EPA permanent position.
Responsibilities include individual, couples and group counseling, walk-in / triage services, initial assessments, supervision and training of practicum/intern graduate trainees, crisis intervention, clinical consultation, and outreach services and programs.
Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology or related clinical field. Licensed, or license eligible as a psychologist in the state of North Carolina. Clinical therapy experience with young adult population.
Preferred qualifications: APA accredited internship; experience in university counseling center services; and two years post-degree clinical experience with young adults. Prefer strong mental health generalist with interest and experience with clinical supervision. Successful candidates will demonstrate characteristics that include being self-motivated, a strong team player capable of working within a multidisciplinary group, and a demonstrated history of showing initiative, innovation and effective client-centered clinical services.
Counseling & Psychological Services (CPS) is one of thirteen departments in the Division of Student Affairs. Our IACS-accredited agency embraces a holistic-wellness model, ecological perspective and teamwork orientation to provide the foundation for effective mental health services. There are currently 8 permanent staff positions, 4-6 masters/doctoral level trainees, part-time psychiatric services provider, office manager and administrative assistant.
