Assistant Director, Clinical Services

Summary of Duties: Serves as Assistant Director for Clinical Services; works in collaboration with the Associate Director of Clinical Services to coordinate all of the clinical services provided by Counseling and Consultation Service; serves as the unit’s HIPAA Privacy Officer, chairs or co-chairs center committees; assists in the development and regulation of clinical policies and procedures; provides comprehensive clinical services including short-term individual, group, couples counseling, and assessment services and manages clinical services in the absence of the Associate Director for Clinical Services.
Required Qualifications: Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, Social Work, Counseling, or related field; independent license or license eligible in the State of Ohio in current professional discipline related to academic degree; three years of professional experience; administrative experience or possess an administrative skill set for a clinical setting and demonstrated commitment to diversity and multiculturalism.
Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise/experience in one or more of the following: eating disorders, formal assessment, or working with trauma.
Counseling and Consultation Service
Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) is a department within the Office of Student Life with the purpose of providing counseling and mental health services to the Ohio State University campus. The mission of CCS is to promote the personal well-being and academic success of students by providing comprehensive individual and group mental health services, psychoeducational prevention and outreach programming. The staff includes twenty-three senior staff (psychologists, psychiatrists, professional counselors, and social workers), three contract staff (including a part-time dietician), twenty trainees, and ten support staff.
Counseling and Consultation Service is housed on the 4th floor of the state-of-the-art Younkin Success Center. The Success Center was designed to provide a variety of offices to support students’ success at Ohio State. The other offices comprising the Success Center are: 1) Career Connection (a centralized career counseling office and a Career Resource Center); 2) the Student Athlete Support Services office (SASSO); 3) the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (an educational teaching and learning support office); and 4) the Walter E. Dennis Learning Center, which includes a state of the art academic learning lab.
The Center also operates a satellite clinic on campus in conjunction with the Counselor Education and School Psychology programs. The satellite clinic is open full time during the academic year.
