Position Description
Provide professional mental health services for UW campus community including: group, individual brief (time-effective) therapy, and couples counseling, assessment (walk-in and Intake sessions), referrals as needed, and crisis services during office hours and after-hours (on-call coverage rotates one week every 5-6 weeks).
Such intervention and assessment includes interpretation and integration of psychological testing and diagnoses.
Complete necessary and required clinical and administrative paperwork in timely manner and consistent with professional and office expectations.
Participate in UCC Training Team through instruction, supervision and evaluation of UCC clinical trainees, in particular, availability to provide supervision to trainees who will use hours toward future licensing as a Psychologist.
Conduct and coordinate assessment, benchmarking, and outcome research activities for UCC under direction of UCC director. As part of outreach delivery, work on the development and maintenance of the UCC/AWARE Web pages.
Provide consultation to parents, faculty and staff about mental health topics; provide teaching to various groups on campus on a variety of mental health topics; represent the UCC with professional demeanor and composure at such consultation and outreach events. Attend administrative, training, and clinical meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.

Licensed Psychologist strongly preferred, but license eligible candidates will be considered.

Desired Qualifications
College counseling experience. Experience and knowledge of brief, time-effective therapy. Demonstrated commitment to clinical work, outreach, training, and wellness, and integration of developmental perspective in all these endeavors. Advocacy of multicultural and diversity issues in counseling.

Provide supervision to trainees toward WY licensure, in particular, availability to provide supervision to trainees who will use hours toward future licensing as a Psychologist.
Demonstrated program coordination skills. Experience with assessment/data collection. Prepare reports as assigned. Interest in learning the University’s web page software.
Dedication to working as a team. Ability to manage conflict and to communicate well during problem-solving.
Readiness to work during non-office hours. Maintain increased flexibility as issues converge. Ability to perform essential duties under stressful situations.

Furthermore, this position requires knowledge and skills in the following areas: Clinical supervision; Professional ethical guidelines, including the maintenance of confidentiality; Effective mental health assessment, intervention (including group counseling), and referral; Effective rapport building and interpersonal work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds; Personal stress awareness and management.
