Position Description
Stony Brook Universityís Counseling and Psychological Services/Center for Prevention and Outreach (CAPS/CPO) is seeking candidates for a full-time 12-month counselor position.

The prospective employee will provide direct clinical services (individual and group psychotherapy, routine intakes and emergency on-call/crisis intervention), and assist the Coordinator of Student Assessment to provide evaluations for students who exhibit behaviors that may be potentially threatening to oneself and/or other members of the campus community. Hence, we seek to recruit a clinician able to use latest best practices related to rapid risk assessment and crisis intervention.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum education requirement is a Ph.D./Psy.D. from an APA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology program, or a Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in clinical social work, clinical practice or mental health. Psychology candidates must have completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship (and obtain NY State licensure within one year of start date), and Social Work candidates must possess state licensure (LMSW) and have one year of post-graduation clinical mental health work experience.

Desired Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include clinical database management experience with electronic medical records programs such as Medicat, Point and Click, or Titanium; experience providing forensic assessments and/or mandated evaluations; fluency in Spanish, Korea, Japanese or Chinese; clinical experience providing empirically-supported treatment (EST) and/or EST-informed interventions (ACT, DBT, IPT, etc.)
