Salary Range
Position Description
The Counselor will be responsible for providing evaluations, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention for students; consulting with students, faculty, staff, and parents regarding mental health issues; designing and facilitating outreach educational activities. The counselor will share in an on-call rotation, pro-rated to the part-time equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field; independently licensed in NY State;
Three to five years of clinical experience, including at least one in a higher education environment; familiarity with short-term treatment strategies;
Must abide by applicable State and federal laws and professional codes of ethics;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with clients who are diverse by gender, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and religion;
Ability to operate a personal computer and utilize appropriate software.
Desired Qualifications
Two or more years experience as a mental health clinician in a college counseling center; experience with educational programming is desirable.
