Coordinator of Outreach (Counseling Professional I)

The Coordinator of Outreach Services is responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing, providing, and evaluating all outreach efforts for CPS. This includes responding to requests from faculty/staff for presentations on mental health related topics and planning CPS sponsored workshops on topics such as healthy relationships, stress management, adjusting to college, grief and loss, career exploration, etc. The Coordinator of Outreach Services will be responsible for expanding CPS’s efforts to reach students through social media (Facebook, Google+, etc.) and other technology driven initiatives, including assisting with keeping the CPS website current and attractive to a diverse and dynamic student body.
In addition to coordinating outreach services, this position includes providing initial assessments, ongoing, short-term individual, group, and couples counseling to KSU students. All CPS clinicians engage in crisis assessment and intervention during day-time and after hours on-call as assigned. Additional duties include maintenance of client records (complete case notes, assessments, tracking forms, release of information forms, referral forms) according to standards of the profession, and other duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Directors. All CPS staff members contribute to the other areas of Student Success Services and campus functions to include advising, orientation, testing & other duties as assigned; Attendance at staff meeting and clinical meetings.
Master’s level licensed mental health professional (e.g., LPC, LCSW) with experience in a college or university counseling center is preferred. Applicants should have experience: working with diverse populations; treating individuals whose difficulties span the continuum of mental health; and be available for non-traditional work hours for psychological crises and/or performance of outreach and consultation services.
Doctoral level licensed mental health professional (e.g., psychologist, LPC, LCSW) with experience in a college or university counseling center is preferred. Applicants should have experience: working with diverse populations; treating individuals whose difficulties span the continuum of mental health; and be available for non-traditional work hours for psychological crises and/or performance of outreach and consultation services. The most qualified applicants will be creative, team oriented, highly organized, dependable, and able to function at a high-level with minimal supervision. Applicants should be polished presenters who are knowledgeable with current trends in college counseling outreach and prevention efforts and have experience utilizing social media and other emerging areas of outreach, including reaching distance learners.
