Position Description
Drew Universityís McClintock Center for Counseling and Psychological Services has an opening for a licensed staff Psychologist/Counselor. The position will be full-time September through June, and 2 days/week in July and August, beginning fall semester 2012. The chosen individual will be responsible for:
1) Assessing the needs of students from the undergraduate College of Liberal Arts, the Casperson graduate school, and the Theological School who seek counseling;
2) Providing short-term and long term individual psychotherapy,
3) Running psychotherapy and counseling groups;
4) Delivering crisis intervention and triage services when needed;
5) Engaging in outreach (workshops and presentations with a focus on education, increasing awareness, and prevention);
6) Providing some of the supervision for interns and post-docs.
The ideal candidate will be a generalist who is comfortable with a variety of treatment modalities and able to address a range of psychopathologies, developmental issues, as well as spiritual and existential concerns. The candidate should be effective working with diverse populations and multicultural issues. The clinician must also be helpful to graduate and divinity students who are older than traditional college students. A background or specialty in areas such as crisis intervention, suicide prevention, eating disorders, trauma, drug and alcohol issues, LGBTQ concerns, or cross-cultural psychology would be helpful. University or college counseling experience is a plus. The ability to supervise trainees from different theoretical approaches would be helpful.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. Must be licensed. Might consider licensed masterís level professional with commensurate experience. To enrich education through diversity, Drew University is an AA/EOE. In accordance with Department of Homeland Security regulations, successful candidates must be legally able to work in the United States.

Drew University is a small, liberal arts college, in Madison, New Jersey with about 1700 undergraduates and 900 graduate students. Most clients are undergraduates from the College of Liberal arts, which has 50 areas of study and 3 pre-professional programs and emphasizes close mentoring relations between faculty and students. Clients are diverse socioeconomically and ethnically, though many are traditionally college aged. The university is very generous with financial aid and many clients are from populations that traditionally could not afford private college or therapy.
The McClintock Center for Counseling and Psychological Services has a small clinical staff, 4 full time, 1 part-time, 1 full-time post-doc, and 2 practicum students. A wide variety of psychopathologies, developmental, and adjustment issues are treated.

Madison is a thriving small town in northern New Jersey, approximately 50 minutes from New York City by rail.
