Position Description
The Director will be responsible for the overall operation of the counseling center. This position will work in tandem with the Psychology department to meet the university’s academic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, and direct all activities of the counseling center.
• Conduct individual and group counseling with students, faculty, and staff.
• Supervise other counselors, clinical interns, and staff.
• Develop innovative methods of delivering services based on student, faculty, and staff need.
• Review, evaluate, and communicate progress of the center to the administration.
• Monitor and control expenditures.
• Provide or coordinate appropriate staff training.
• Assist the Associate Dean as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Lipscomb University is associated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ and governed by religious tenets held by the institution. Primary consideration is given to staff applicants who are active, faithful members of a congregation of the Church of Christ.
Education: Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology
Experience: Two years of experience practicing as a licensed psychologist. Three to five years of experience preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

The successful candidate will also benefit from a clear understanding and knowledge of national trends and best practices in college student mental health. Experience in an IACS accredited counseling center is desirable.
