Position Description
The successful candidate must be a generalist with significant interest and experience working with a college population. This person must have experience working with a diverse student population and have awareness of multicultural issues as it pertains to a university setting. Responsibilities include 1) clinical assessment and intervention, 2) supervision and training of graduate students, and 3) prevention and outreach programming. Clinical duties include brief individual psychotherapy and counseling, group psychotherapy, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, consultation, and referral. The professional in this position will provide consultation to university administrators, faculty, staff, campus organizations and parents. Continuing education and professional development activities are expected. This individual may serve as coordinator of a specific center programming area or as designated liaison to campus groups and may serve on committees and task groups. This person may also initiate involuntary examination procedures as allowed by law.
Minimum Qualifications
A doctorate in psychology from an accredited college or university, which includes one year of supervised internship experience in professional psychology; or licensure as a psychologist by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490,F.S.* Note: the applicant’s doctoral program must be accredited by the agency designated by the U.S. Dept. of Education, currently the American Psychological Association (required for Florida licensure).
Special Conditions: Must have a doctoral degree on transcript by Date of Hire. Licensed or License-eligible in the State of Florida. If not licensed, must obtain psychologist licensure in Florida within two years from date of hire and must maintain license.
Desired Qualifications
1. Experience and/or expertise in working with graduate and/or professional students.
2. Availability to work evening hours.

The Center has an active program of prevention and outreach, and joint efforts are in place, with others on the drawing board, that connect the Center with other departments and professionals on campus who are concerned about health, wellness and alcohol and other drug prevention, among others.
