Position Description
Counseling and Health Services (CHS) at Salem State University is excited to announce a position opening for a new Assistant Director / Training Director for our Counseling Services. CHS serves a very diverse student population in historic Salem, MA.
Job responsibilities will include: providing individual and group counseling services, crisis evaluation and intervention, consultation to community- faculty, staff and parents, psycho-educational training and outreach to university community, individual supervision, as well as coordinating training and group supervision and internship selection for Boston area graduate interns and national postdoctoral fellows. Will also collaborate with the Director, center staff, and SSU community on projects.
Minimum Qualifications
For the Assistant Director/ Training Director position, we are looking for a clinical or counseling psychologist licensed (license eligible) in MA. Must have at least 3 years of clinical experience with young adults, and have programming, training and outreach skills.
Desired Qualifications
Our preferred candidate would have prior College Counseling experience, as well as experience supervising and training graduate level trainees. We are looking for someone with strong clinical skills congruent with a brief therapy model, as well as a commitment to multicultural counseling. An APA accredited internship is a plus.
