Position Description
This is an 80%, 9 month position, primarily based out of Boynton Health Service’s combined primary care/mental health satellite clinic at Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

The Psychologist provides psychotherapy services to the eligible clientele of the Boynton Mental Health Clinic. He/she serves as a Consultant for other members of the Health Service staff, the faculty and staff of the University community.

The Psychologist must abide by the policies or regulations as established by the Boynton Health Service Medical staff, the Regents of the University of Minnesota and the laws of the State of Minnesota.

-Provide individual, group and couples therapy to eligible clientele.
-Application of theoretical and practical knowledge of clinically oriented psychological tests, including the MMPI.
-Keep appropriate electronic medical records.
-Consultation with BHS medical providers regarding the mental health needs of University/MCTC students and staff.
-Maintain ties with appropriate referral sources in the University/MCTC.
-Serves on operational committee of Boynton Health Service at the request of the Medical Director and / or the Director of the Health Service.
-Serves on operational committee of the Mental Health Clinic at the request of the Director of Mental Health.
-Is available for in-service training and / or discussion as requested by various departments within the University/MCTC.
-Provides consultative services as requested by the various departments or faculty/staff within the University/MCTC.
-If assigned to urgent counseling, available for urgent phone calls and able to see clients with urgent needs within 24 hours or arrange for appropriate alternative disposition.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in counseling or clinical psychology (including full year internship) from an accredited University. Minimum of two years of responsible, professional service as a practicing psychologist. Maintenance of a program of professional improvement. Licensed as a Psychologist in the state of Minnesota. Experience in the practice of short term psychotherapy.
