Position Description
The Student Counseling Service at Iowa State University is pleased to offer a Postdoctoral Fellowship position for the 2012-2013 academic year. SCS is within the Division of Student Affairs. This is a 12-month full-time position with a start date of August 1st.

This position affords the Postdoctoral Fellow the opportunity to work in a dynamic university counseling center that serves a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body. Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, the Fellow will provide individual, couples, and group therapy from a brief therapy model, conduct intake evaluations, crisis assessment and intervention, and provide outreach programs and consultation to the campus community. There may also be opportunities for supervision of trainees from a doctoral program in counseling psychology and to pursue special interests such as eating disorders, trauma recovery or counseling center administration.

The Fellow will attend regularly scheduled team meetings for case disposition and peer supervision as well as weekly staff meetings. The Fellow will receive weekly individual supervision from a licensed psychologist in accordance with Iowa state licensure requirements for postdoctoral hours. Other interests and areas for training during the fellowship are negotiable with the SCS Associate Director.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology and an APA-accredited doctoral internship.

Desired Qualifications
Candidates should be knowledgeable of college student development, interested in working with a diverse university population, and experienced with crisis assessment and intervention. The Student Counseling Service houses an APA-accredited Doctoral Internship Program, Practicum Program, Career Exploration Service, a Mind/Body Center, and a thriving Group Therapy program.
